A Sèvres porcelain milk jug, porbably 1780's.
Model 'pot à lait 'à trois pieds,'' of the first size, turquoise ground, so called 'bleu céleste,' with painted reserve with ornithological motif. Beneath one foot an impressed '4' and beneath another with interlaced L's and CC for year 1780, and with painter's signature for Jacques fontaine (active 1752-1800,) probably later décor. Height 11,6 cm.
Wear due to age and use. Probably later décor.
