Georg Jensen’s Vivianna “bangle” watch (ref. 226) was introduced to the main collection in 1969, translating Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe’s 1962 concept into series production. The earliest pieces were fitted with a hand-wound 17-jewel L.U.C. Chopard movement—a natural alliance, as Georg Jensen’s strength lay in Danish silversmithing while Chopard offered the ultra-thin, dependable calibres needed to inhabit Torun’s seamless, sculptural bracelet case. From the early 1980s the model switched to Swiss ETA quartz, so the original Chopard-powered examples—like the one in our forthcoming auction—remain the most coveted by collectors today.
