A Japanese cloisonné insence burner with cover, Meiji (1868-1912).
Bulbous shape with two ring handles and archaic masks, tripod base. Reticulated cover with auspicious shou character. Decorated with polychrome cloisonné featuring flowers and stylized foliage. Apochryphal Ming mark to base but later and Japanese. Height 17 cm.
Wear. The cover burst.
