Gösta Idås was a Swedish artist and drawing teacher who enrolled at the Stockholm School of Advertising in 1937. His first exhibition was Anonymous Artists in Stockholm in 1942.
He was influenced by Cubism, Futurism and Surrealism, expressed through his typically Expressionist style. In his early artistic career, he was also inspired by the poetry of Evert Taube and Dan Andersson, and in the 1980s by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
Unfortunately, he was forced to stop painting in the late 1980s due to an eye disease.
His works are represented in the collections of Västerås Art Museum, Eskilstuna Art Museum, Enköping Municipality, Uppsala County Council and Kyrkans hus. A memorial exhibition was held at Enköping Museum in 2012.
