Contemporary full cloth, scuffed, repair to spine, hinges weak, foxed (severe foxing to verso of plates in some cases).

First Edition. Issue points: Chapter 27 is on page 282 rather than page 283 as listed in the table of contents, pages 16:1 and 225:22 both read "recal", 19:39 reads "cha pter ;ut"; 387:45 reads "coroboration", 472:37 has no closing of the quotation marks, and the first state of the engraved vignette title page (dated) is present. "Screamed" has been corrected to "screwed" on page 132:20, however, and there is a half-title present.

Alkuperä - Provenienssi

Karl Becht was a teacher at the Lundsberg School in Värmland, with geography as his main subject. He started collecting books in the early 1930s and specialised in illustrated books of voyages and travel, exploration and discoverey. ”The Karl Bech collection” was given a separate catalogue for its sale at Bukowskis in 1991.
