Later half red morocco, gilt spine (with small crack at head), title with circular rubber stamp in blue ink and perforated stamp (OFM Quebec), the perforated stamp repeated on final leaf; with a few additional library markings and a very small portrait photograph (!) in upper outer corner of final leaf with ownership or gift inscription dated 1902. Occasional marginal and corner reinforcements, a few marginal dampstains and a few insignificant inkstains; occasional neat marginalia, second last leaf with paper loss to lower margin (text unaffected).

Rare, early edition. The first edition of Josephus appeared in 1470; the editio princeps of the original Greek text followed in 1544.
