Signed by Jean Baptiste Bernadotte in 1794
Military appointment form of the fifth infantry division of The Army of Sambre and Meuse (Armée de Sambre-et-Meuse), one of the armies of the French Revolution, with autograph signature by among others Division General Jean Baptiste Bernadotte (”J. Bernadotte”).
Partly printed, partly filled out in ink for a corporal Pierre Vauselle, dated Year 3 of the Revolution (=1794), the year in which the Armée de Sambre-et-Meuse was formed. Bernadotte’s military career had been outstanding, and he had advanced from Captain to Division General in a mere ten months.
22 x 27,5 cms, traces of folds, slight wear. Framed.
