The Ball Clock belongs to the series of Nelson Wall Clocks designed by George Nelson for Vitra between 1948 and 1960. The goal of the series was to introduce modern design into American homes. All the clocks are clearly inspired by the growing economic prosperity and the strong belief in the future that permeated the USA during the 1950s.
