Selected wines and spirits – April

Just before Easter the second auction of the year with selected wines and spirits took place. In the end nine out of ten bottles found new owners.

The auction started with Champagne and among the bubbles we saw a 2002 Dom Pérignon Methusalem (6-litre bottle) fetch SEK 24,000. An exceptional bottle for an exceptional occasion.

Day two of the auction consisted exclusively of red wines from France. The oldest wine of the bunch was a lot with five 1934 Château Margaux’s. A wine also represented with vintages 1947, 1971, 1991 and 2004. Not surprisingly the highest price for a single bottle was from Burgundy - 2012 Romanée-Conti, final bid: SEK 79,000.

On the last day there was intense bidding on the Californian reds. Four bottles of 2005 Vecina from Bond fetched SEK 12,500. Cognac and Whisky rounded of the auction. A 1946 Macallan, aged in sherry wood for 52 years sold for SEK 78,000. Two extremely rare bottles of Blended Glenlivet destilled before the 1870’s sold for SEK 11,600. All prices referenced exclude buying commission.

The next auction with selected wines and spirits will be available may 8th.
