The exceptional result of Hans Erik Börjeson’s Collection, 10 lots exceeding one million SEK and the outstanding success of Anders Zorn’s masterpiece ”On the beach St:Ives Cornwall England” – sums up day one of Bukowskis' exceptional auction Important Spring Sale.

Hans Erik Börjeson’s Collection consists of several important art works from our Swedish masters such as Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson and Carl Kylberg, alongside art works by international artists such as Pablo Picasso whos works of art all sold with great success and high above the estimate. The collections most noted masterpiece, Anders Zorn’s ”On the beach St:Ives Cornwall England”, reached a phenomenal final price of 17 425 000 SEK and was therefore the auction’s most expensive art work sold.

A pair of exquisite Empire centrepieces in the manner of Pierre-Phillips Thomires from Paris, with decor ornamentations of swans and achantus, achieved a final price of 263 375 SEK, and a magnificent brass gilded chandelier in Rococo style also reached a final price of 263 375 SEK. Exquisite examples of masterful craftsmanship with exciting provenance that symbolize this auction’s exclusive and well curated selection.
