We have spoken to Marcus Kinge, Specialist Prints, about this spring's upcoming auction Contemporary Art & Design.He took the opportunity to highlight some of his personal favourites in the sale.

What can we look forward to in this spring's Contemporary Art & Design sale?

– This spring the Contemporary Prints department includes several notable and internationally sought-after works by some of the leading artists of our time. Prints and multiples are often an excellent opportunity to acquire fantastic artworks by international art stars to a reasonable price. It is still an advanced craft in the process, and the editions are limited well.

When is the exhibition and auction?

Exhibition: 21 – 25 April, Berzelii Park 1, Stockholm.

Open: Mon–Fri 11 AM – 6 PM, Sat–Sun, 11 AM–5 PM.

Auction: 26 April, Arsenalsgatan 2, Stockholm.

Andy Warhol "Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn)", 1967

It is impossible not to mention one of the most iconic images in 20th-century art history, "Marilyn" by Andy Warhol. In 1967, Warhol started Factory Additions, the studio where he created art with his collaborators. The portrait of Marilyn Monroe was the first edition produced there. The model is the same photograph of the famous actress, that Warhol used for his original paintings. We’re delighted to present the opportunity to acquire one of the rare original editions from 1967.

Karin Mamma Andersson "God Natt Jord", 2009

Karin Mamma Andersson stands out in Swedish contemporary art with her interest and development of printing techniques. In the auction's "Good Night Earth", which she produced together with Grafikens Hus 2009 in a very limited edition where each print is unique, you can sense her inspiration from Edvard Munch’s woodcuts. It’s a beautiful and suggestive image.

Richard Serra ""Malcolm X"", 1981

######It is an honour to be able to present one of Richard Serra's fascinating lithographs, "Malcolm X" from 1981. After working with various printing techniques in the 1970s, he found new inspiration and created several impressive works in collaboration with Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles.
