Made in Sweden - unique objects that have put Sweden on the world map

A unique highlight in the collection is Ronnie "Superswede" Peterson's racing suit from 1977. Peterson was one of Sweden's most prominent and beloved racing drivers. With a passion for motorsport that blossomed from a young age, he became renowned for his exceptional talent and speed on the racetrack, quickly becoming an icon in the Formula 1 world. The suit was a gift from Ronnie Peterson's father to the current owner..

› Ronnie Peterson's racing overall, 1977, estimate 30 000 – 50 000 SEK.

Another highlight at the auction is "Dance Group II," created by the prominent artist Bror Hjorth. The sculpture carries a symbolic meaning that reflects his dedication to the sculptural group that dominated most of his artistic work during the 1950s. Hjorth's devotion to this sculptural group has its roots in one of Uppsala's most significant landmarks, namely the monumental fountain sculpture "The Nix's Polska," which stands six meters tall and is inaugurated outside Uppsala Central Station on October 14, 1967.

"Dance Group II" now presented at the auction, shares strong connections with the larger version that remains at Åhléns Department Store in Stockholm City. The catalog number, however, is significantly more expressionistic and was initially acquired by Gösta Åhlén's brother, Anders Ragnar Åhlén, and has since been passed down within the family.

› Bror Hjorth, "Dansgrupp II", 1954, estimate 60 000 SEK.

The auction's focus also includes some musical treasures, including an amplifier and speakers of the Hiwatt "Custom 50" model, signed by the members of The Hives. The amplifier was tailored for The Hives' tour around 2010-2011 and is a unique masterpiece in the rock world. In addition to its aesthetics, the amplifier has a personal touch that gives it character. A card with a special greeting from the band reads:
– 100 kg Rock 'N Roll att slita med hälsan! MVH Hives.

› The Hives-signed amplifier, 2010-2011, estimate 25 000 SEK.

Among the more classical art objects, we can mention a beautiful work by Prince Eugen, signed in 1927. In this piece, the prince has depicted a beautiful summer day in the Drottningholm Palace Park. In the center, we see the well-known Hercules Fountain, designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger, surrounded by visitors strolling around it or sitting and resting on benches. It was here, at Drottningholm Palace, that Prince Eugen was born 62 years earlier on August 1, 1865.

› Prins Eugen, Herkulesfontänen", 1927, estimate 60 000 SEK.

In the world of sports memorabilia, few items can evoke nostalgia, like an authentic match jersey, and this framed Zlatan-signed match jersey from the football club Inter is an exciting piece for football enthusiasts. The jersey is from 2006, which was the year when the then-young football star joined the Italian team.

› Signed colour screen print, 1977, Estimate 30 000 SEK.

Within the auction's collection of design objects, we find several timeless items that have become emblematic of Swedish style and innovation, like this floor lamp created by Gilbert Watrous for Heifetz Mfg. Co in the 1950s.

The lamp is crafted from black lacquered steel with elegant brass fittings accentuating its form and lines. It holds strong connections to Sweden, as it was licensed for production by Bergboms, the prominent Swedish lighting manufacturer. This fusion of American and Swedish design heritage demonstrates its global influence and how design could flourish across borders. Additionally, the lamp is part of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) collection in New York, which acknowledges its cultural significance.

› Gilbert Watrous, floor lamp, 1950-tal, estimate 15 000 SEK.

The works will be sold at the Online auction Made in Sweden.
