Tradition Meets Innovation –Bukowskis integrates AI into the auction experience

Bukowskis is introducing AI-generated interior and design imagery to enhance the experience of art and design sold online. This initiative marks a further step in driving innovation within the auction industry by adding a layer where customers can find inspiration and experience quality objects in a variety of settings and interior styles.

For over 150 years, Bukowskis has built its business on expertise, passion, and knowledge of objects. That tradition endures, while digitalisation and new technology open up new ways to experience art and design. As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance and develop the customer experience, items sold online at Bukowskis will now be complemented by AI-generated interior images in both classic and contemporary styles.

The initiative is a creative addition to the user experience, where AI-generated interior and decor images provide inspiration and enhance how objects are experienced in a room. At the same time, Bukowskis remains committed to its heritage of tradition and expertise, and continues to value the meeting point between innovation and tradition.

“Bukowskis continues to drive development in the auction industry with the goal of advancing both its business and customer experience. Introducing AI is part of that development, as we, as part of Bonhams’ global network, also actively work to future-proof our offering, both locally and globally.” – Louise Arén, CEO of Bukowskis.

AI-generated interior and décor images will be gradually introduced across several product categories starting in May 2026. Any interior image that is AI-generated will be marked with an AI label; all other object images will continue to be photographed in a studio by Bukowskis’ photographers.
