In 1731, Sweden got its own East India Company and two years later the first trip was to China. In addition to the large imports in the 18th century, diplomats, researchers, engineers, missionaries and skilled Swedish collectors have brought objects from Asia home to Sweden throughout the 20th century and today we find a large number of beautiful Asian objects in Scandinavia.
