The Art Department

The Art Department presents works spanning all periods – from Joachim Beuckelaer to Helene Schjerfbeck.
Among the highlights are works by prominent Nordic masters such as “Hämta vatten” by Anders Zorn, “Enslingen” by August Strindberg, Cat and Wagtail by Bruno Liljefors, “Den dygdiga Hem Resan” by Johan Tobias Sergel, “Norrström med Bondeska palatset, Stockholm” by Elias Martin, and “Dam vid spinnrocken” by Helene Schjerfbeck.

Among the international artists are renowned names such as Joachim Beuckelaer, Ivon Hitchens, Adriaen Hanneman, Jean Étienne Liotard, and Lotte Laserstein.

The Prints Department features high-quality works by artists such as Rembrandt, Paul Gauguin, and Roy Lichtenstein.

The Furniture and Works of Art Department

Within furniture and works of art, a carefully curated selection of Nordic and international masterpieces is presented. Among the highlights of the auction are no fewer than three works by Gottlieb Iwersson, including a magnificent Gustavian chest of drawers and an elegant late Gustavian table. Also featured is a rare pair of mirrors by Pehr Ljung, as well as three armchairs by Ephraim Ståhl.

The auction further comprises an unusually rich collection of bronzes of the highest quality, including both mantel clocks and candelabra, as well as a fascinating selection of rare Kunstkammer objects.

The Silver Department

The Silver Department presents a large and thoroughly curated catalogue of silverware – from silver tankard and candlesticks to boxes and medals – by distinguished makers such as Pehr Zethelius, Jonas Thomasson Ronander, W.A. Bolin, as well as international firms including Fabergé, Sasikov, Les Frères Toussaint, and many more.

Among the highlights are a pair of magnificent wine coolers by Pehr Zethelius – one of Sweden’s greatest goldsmiths of all time – a pair of royal candelabra from Austria signed by Ignaz Joseph Würth, as well as a royal award medal, “Illis Quorum”, 18th size in gold with chain, awarded to Ludvig Berckhan Falkman.

The Department of Carpets, Textiles and Islamic Works of Art

The Department of Carpets, Textiles and Islamic Works of Art presents pieces from various periods and origins. Among these are several carpets from the Mohtasham and Seirafian families, as well as a number of Agra carpets dating from the late 19th century, together with two woven Brussels tapestries after David Teniers the Younger.

The auction also includes an antique fragment of a West Anatolian saff carpet, dating to circa 1600–1750. Fragments from this group appear only very rarely on today’s market and are of considerable interest both to collectors and to the scholarly research surrounding early Ottoman carpets.

The Jewellery Department

The Jewellery Department presents an exciting selection of antique jewellery and contemporary classics, featuring several works by Buccellati, exceptional pieces by Kristian Nilsson, and a wide selection of gold jewellery.

Highlights include a brooch in 14K gold and silver with faceted spinel and old- and rose-cut diamonds, a round brilliant-cut diamond of 6.94 ct, a platinum brooch set with an old-cut navette-shaped diamond of approximately 3.65 ct, and a snowflake-shaped brooch designed by Alma Pihl for Fabergé, with provenance from Ludvig Nobel. Legend has it that Alma Pihl found inspiration for her iconic snowflake jewellery in the frost patterns on a window in Saint Petersburg – a motif that would later come to define several of Fabergé’s most celebrated creations.

The Department of Asian Ceramics and Works of Art

The Department of Asian Ceramics and Works of Art presents a wide-ranging selection of Asian art, with a particular focus on Chinese ceramics, works of art, and Buddhist art. The auction opens with Chinese objects from the Wallenberg Collection (909–942).

The auction also includes Vietnamese art featuring works by Vu Cao Dam, Do Xuan Doan, and Nguyen Kim Dong. Among the Chinese paintings are two ancestral portraits, Ling Fengmian’s Lady in White with Vase, and a modernist painting by Chu Teh-Chun from 1962. Highlights of the sale also include a gilt Buddhist figure of Sarvavid Vairocana dating from the 15th century, a large figure of Guandi from the Ming dynasty, and several fine blue-and-white porcelain pieces from the Qing dynasty.
