For more than 50 years, Christo and Jeanne-Claude worked successfully together as what became known as "Team Christo". Through their monumental and awe-inspiring art projects, in which urban and natural landscapes were wrapped in fabric as part of their distinctive Wrapping works, they created a unique artistic legacy that brought them international acclaim. They mastered every stage of the creative process – from the initial concept and planning through to execution and documentation – realising projects across much of the world. After meeting in Paris in 1958, where Christo became involved with the Western European art movement Nouveau Réalisme, the couple settled permanently in New York in 1964.
