The White Gold

Dive in to the wonderful selection of German figurines from the private collection of Henrik Petrini. In this part of Mr Petrinis collection we have gathered some of the German porcelain figurines. When you think of German porcelain brands, Meissen is never far from you mind. Meissen porcelain is called “white gold,” because the man who discovered it, the alchemist Johann Friedrich Böttger (1682-1719), was supposed to be producing gold from base metals for his master, Augustus II, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, and after his discovery of hard past porcelain the Meissen factory is founded in 1710. German porcelain is thougth by many to be Europe’s finest hand painted porcelain. When studying the details of the porcelain you will be amazed by the quality of the ware and the artistry of the decoration.
