Uno Angerstein was a part-owner of the Kosta glassworks from 1830 to 1874. He was also the founder and director of the Kronoberg County Agricultural School while owning the estates of Gåvetorp and Dansjö in the Lekaryd parish. He was a chamberlain, patron, writer, musician, painter, officer, farmer, and industrialist – many strings to his bow. He was very interested in art and painted himself, as well as hosting several artists who lived and worked at his estate Gåvetorp (among them Kilian Zoll, Bengt Nordenberg, and Marcus Larson).
