I den konkreta konsten fanns ingen motsättning mellan genrer. Snarare var det en fördel att röra sig mellan till exempel möbelformgivning och nyskapande konst som Erik Chambert. Hans konst tillkom i en mycket fruktbar miljö för det abstrakt-geometriska uttrycket i hemstaden Norrköping. Det märkliga med Chambert var hur hans nyskapande akrylglasreliefer i flera skikt oftast transformerade olika upplevelser från resor och vardag. Detta är tydligt i ett av hans mer bekanta verk, Nattlampan.
