Studie till Cederströms centrala målning "Hos de husvilla" (133 x 176 cm, tidigare i hovjägmästare Helge Ax:son Johnsons samlingar; utställd på Liljevalchs konsthall i Stockholm) utförd samma år. I denna målning samt "Frälsningsarmén" från 1886 (Göteborgs konstmuseum), visar Cederström intresse för tidens sociala frågor.
