More information

"These are among Watson's favourite photographs. Executed in the sculpture school at the Royal College of Art in London, where he went to film school, he made pictures as gallery organizers were taking down a student exhibition. Among the fashion pieces on the shoot, Watson spotted the black fabric and seized the oppurtunity to create a remarkably inventive image of a dress by Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto. Inventive and fun, the series of dramatic images that followed, which were published in Italian Vogue, give new meaning to minimalism in fashion photography." Ur James Crump, "Albert Watson", 2007.
