Journalisten och kritkern Ingela Lind skriver följande om Anders Widoffs rutiga målningar i en katalog från 1992:

"Han målar sina egna dukar lika "anonymt" som väverskorna en gång vävde sina textilier. Likväl blir resultatet säreget. Ju mer han undertrycker sina personliga åthävor desto starkare framhävs hans subjektiva närvaro. Här finns en paradox. Ju noggrannare han underkastar sig en tradition desto tydligare framträder hans egen rytm.

Anders Widoff står, alltmer otåligt, på tröskeln till konsthuset. Ett korthus med frusna överenskommelser. Han går fram och tillbaks. Hans konst rör gränsen mellan hemma och hemlöshet - det glidande underlag mellan utanför och innanför som är nuet."
