A ceremonial cup with stand, Qing dynasty, with a four character mark Hongzhi nian zhi (1488-1505).

The cup decorated with phoenix birds against a blackened silver coating, the interior gilded. The tray with two gilt dragon in relief against turkoise-blue waves, edges and base with blackened silver. Length of tray 13 cm, height of cup 4,5 cm.

Footrim with retouched chips.

Provenance

The Hultmark Collection. Bought from the Collection of Oscar Björck.

Exhibited at the National Museum in Stockholm 1928, "Äldre kinesiskt konsthantverk ur svenska samlingar". catalogue no 462. Depicted on page 31.
