More information

Study to Westin's door lintel "Evening", depicting Diana as a moon goddess driving her rig from the shadows, one of four door lintels depicting four moments of the day executed in 1812-13 on behalf of Charles XIII for the bedroom of Queen Hedvig Elisabeth Charlotta at Roserberg castle. Before the paintings were installed they were exhibited at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1813 and attracted much admiration there.
