Signed and dated with dedication: "Arild 1951. Till Charles Barkel Mästaren med beundran från Bror Hjorth". Panel 46 x 56 cm. Total measurements including the artist's hand carved original frame 58.5 x 68.5 cm.

Earlier in the collection of Charles Barkel (the artist's son Ole took violin lessons for Barkel who received the painting as payment).
