A porcelain snuff bottle, Qing dynasty, Guangxu six-character red mark and of the period (1875-1908).

The bottle of slightly tapered form, decorated in bright enamels with five cockerels in various attitudes. Height 6,1 cm.

The Collection of a Swedish Connoisseur, Stockholm.

Compare with one almost identical dated to Daoguang/Xianfeng (1821-1861), sold at Sotheby's, New York, March 17, 1997, Lot 390.

More information

The collection is a study collection, accumulated during a lifetime. The collector operated within the field of oriental works of art. Due to his knowledge and sense of quality he was of great help to many of the members on Kinaklubben (The China Club) with members such as the Swedish Crown Prince Gustav Adolf, Emil Hultmark and Carl Kempe. The collection is mainly acquired in Sweden and London.
