Purchasing info
A Tibeto-Chinese Tsagli of Vajravarahi in her black fierce-full form, 19th Century.

Vajravarahi appears here in her black fierce-full form (Krodha Kali -Fierce Black One), and is surrounded by four other forms of her, and with a lama at top center. A tsagli is a small painting used in initiations and for individual practice. Colour pigment on cloth. 22 x 17,5 cm.

More information

Vajravarahi is depicted in her 'sky-dancing' pose, with her left leg pressing down an adoring male deity, and her right leg in the yogin/yogini's pose of meditation. Often misunderstood for a sign of domination, the trampling on other divine beings is a manifestation by the yogin or yogini identified with Vajravarahi, as domination of his or her own negative mental attitudes and habits, not the domination of an outward physical being.
