A famille rose armorial teacaddie, Qing dynasty, Qianlong (1736-95).

Decorated with a figure scene, a bird in the tree is holding the coat of arms. Height 10 cm.

Provenance

The English Arms of Horner, made for Mann Horner, who was in Canton in 1757 and was a member of the non-Resident Council 1760. His time in Canton coincided with Mebjamin Torin who also had a service with a similar Chinese scene made for him.
