Two letters from King Charles XIII of Sweden written to The Swedish Prime minister Count Fredrik Gyllenborg, about the conquering of Norway by armed swedish forces.
One written by The Royal secretary and signed by The King, the other by The Kings own hand.
With the lot follows one letter written to The King by The Prime minister, Count Gyllenborg.
18,5 x 22 - 20 x 24,5 cm.

Vid freden i Kiel, januari 1814 stadgades att Danmark skulle avträda Norge till Sverige.
I Norge hade dock den danske prinsen Christian Fredrik den 17 maj valts till kung vilket den svenske kungen Karl XIII inte accepterade. Stridshandlingar inleddes därför till sjöss och till lands i juli 1814. Svenska arméstyrkor gick in i Norge. Fredrikstens fästning kapitulerade i augusti och stillestånd slöts i Moss den 14 augusti.
En union ingicks sedan den 4 november 1814 där Karl XIII valdes till Norges kung.
Unionen varade fram till 1905.
