A grey shist head of Boddhsiattva, Gandhara, presumably 2nd/3rd Century.

Finely carved with full lips and heavy lidded eyes, straight nose and bowed lips, the serene face centered by a raised urna, the usnisa secured with an ornate beaded head-band, on wooden stand. Height 12,8 cm without stand.

Provenance: Aquired in Peshawar, Northern part of Pakistan 1967-1968 by the Swedish Diplomat Torkel Leijonhufvud.
