A Japanese wooden sculpture of Bodhisattva Kannon Senju, Edo period, 18th Century.

A large standing figure of Kannon Senju, with 16 arms that represents its compassion. The primary arms in Anjali mudra, praying, the lower ones holding an alms bowl. The Boddhisattva is standing on a double lotus throne on top of a coarse rockwork resting on a squre plinth. Behind the figure a mandorla. Height 65 cm.

Minor wear, damages.
