Denna målning överlämnades som 40-årspresent från Rolf du Maré till hans gode vän Bengt Häger med vem han grundade Dansmuseet i Stockholm. Häger var dess chefsintendent mellan åren 1953-89. Dessutom grundade han även Koreografiska institutet (nuvarande Dans- och cirkushögskolan) i Stockholm.
