More information

The auction commode is interesting as it is the only known commode so far, where Haupt has used straight legs instead of the slightly bent legs. Possibly the commode was originally a disguised Valet's bed of the kind found in the Royal collections. It appeares as if it was altered very early, perhaps already during Georg Haupt's lifetime.
