A CARPET AND A SKETCH, "Svensk-Amerika", knotted pile, gouache, the carpet ca 109 x 156 cm, the sketch ca 20x26 cm,

signed it (Ingegerd Torhamn). A modernistic polychrome composition with a standing man in front of a factory and a Swedish flag. Designed and executed by Ingegerd Torhamn for the Stockholm exhibition in 1930. The frame of the sketch is later.

The carpet: partly slightly faded, slightly dirty, minor stains, insignificant colour run areas and damages. One end is worn.

Provenance

Ingegerd Torhamn. The carpet was sold at Bukowskis Moderna autumn auction in 2001 with the catalogue number 1250, the carpet sketch was sold at Bukowskis Moderna spring auction in 2002 with the catalogue number 999.
