"På samma sätt blir hans bilder av klädda modeller levande skildringar av unga kvinnor. Särskilt 1931 utför han flera märkliga dylika målningar. En särställning intar "Kvinna i röd klänning", starkt fängslande i sin kolorit av "allvarliga" toner (karnationens blekhet!) mot den mättat vallmoröda klänningen och sin auktoritativa, nära form."
