I detta finkänsliga sommarlandskap har Ragnar Sandberg, en av förra seklets mer poetiska svenska konstnärer, förstärkt upplevelsen av en stilla rymd som nästan går att andas. Betraktaren stiger in i målningens imaginära värld och tankarna får röra sig fritt medan känslorna flödar fram. Koloriten är förfinad och behagligt mild och ger åskådaren en längtan att promenera framåt, mot havet.
