A CARPET, "Golo Bolbol" (="Flower and bird"-motive), a silk Esfahan figural, ca 337 x 243,5 cm, Mohammad Seirafian.
One end has 3 cm flat weave with a knotted signature. An ivory ground with a polychrome naturalistic decor of birds and a variety of different flowers. A wide light camel hair coloured main border with birds and flowers. Two white and two red guard stripes with motives as above. One end has an extension with the Iranian flag knotted in wool and a cartouche with the signature knotted in silk. Signaturen: Baft (woven by) Iran Isfahan Seirafian. Ca one million knots per square meter.
Some wear, slightly dirty, stains. The sides have minor fold wear.
