A cut and engraved armorial wine goblet with cover, Germany, 18th Century, presumably Potsdam.

Cone shaped cup, short leg on a large foot. Engraved with arms acolle of Gyllenstierna - Brahe beneth a coronet, the other side with a palace and its gardens. Height 22 cm.

Provenance

The arms acollé for Nils Gyllenstierna af Björksund och Helgö (1670-1731), colonel in the Swedish King Charles XII's army. Married 1723 with Ulrika Juliana Brahe (1704-1765).
Her estate inventory 1768 lists one crystal goblet with the arms of Brahe and Gyllenstierna.
