Stained oak, sheet iron, the interior with five glass shelves, marked with plaque SLOTTSBACKEN av JONAS BOHLIN 1987 för KÄLLEMO-VÄRNAMO-SWEDEN. Produced in 200 ex 1/200 - 200/200 and 10 ex signed 1/X - X/X. Number 173/200 JONAS BOHLIN, height 210 cm, width 70 cm, depth 37 cm.

Dry crack, minor damage, later lamp enclosed.

The model was designed in 1987 and made in a limited edition of 200 + 10 + 20 copies.
The story says that Jonas Bohlin named this cabinet when sitting on the bus in the centre of Stockhlm, the driver shouted out the next stop - Slottsbacken! Hence the name "Slottsbacken" to this iconic 1980's cabinet.

Jonas Bohlin is a Swedish interior architect and designer born in Stockholm. He studied at Konstfack in Stockholm where he also worked as a professor. Bohlin's graduation project garnered great attention: the "Concrete" armchair, crafted from steel and concrete. In the 1980s the chair sparked a debate as to what constitutes as art? Bohlin's designs balance emotion and reason, challenging conventional assumptions.
