"Truls Melin berättar att han varit intresserad av segling och det maritima sedan tonåren.
Truls Melin är född 1958 i Malmö men bor och arbetar i Köpenhamn. Efter ett par år på konstskolan Forum i Malmö studerade han vid danska konstakademin 1979-84. Han fick tidigt internationell uppmärksamhet och var Sveriges representant på biennalen i Venedig 1993.
Melin har erhållit Moderna Museets Vänners Skulpturpris år 2007.
