"Lowlands" är en yttre och inre resa till en plats och en stämning. Fotografen Martin Bogren återvände under flera år till sin barndomsby i Skåne för att porträttera människorna och omgivningarna där. Men bakom den dokumentära berättelsen formade sig en allt mer personlig historia om barndomsminnen och ungdomstid, om längtan bort och drömmen om något som var större än byn.
