A late Gustavian late 18th century corner table.

Veneered with mahogany. White marble top and shelf. Brass mounts. One drawer. Marked with the stamp under top: three crowns EXP (furniture for export, export stamp in use from 1766). Length 62, width 36, height 84 cm. Key included.

Kommerskollegium påbjöd 1766 att nya möbler, som anmälts för export, skulle förses med exportstämpel "tre kronor EXP". Under 1700-talet dominerade den merkantilistiska politiken med mål att uppnå positiv handelsbalans. Tanken var att landets rikedomar skulle byggas genom att exportera så mycket som möjligt och importera så lite som möjligt. Den inhemska tillverkningen skyddades genom importtullar och exporten subventionerades genom exportpremier. Exporten av de stockholmstillverkade möblerna gick i huvudsak till Östersjöområdet, främst till Svenska Pommern, Ryssland och Danmark.
