Sculptured nuts, nephrite with blue glass pendants. Length 106 cm.

Provenance

Purschased by Ruth Nathorst in China in the 1920's. Ruth Gabriella Nathorst (1883-1961), studied to be a teacher and then teology at Uppsala University. She was sent to China in 1918 as a missionary, where she came to live until 1944. She worked as a teacher in various schools and wrote several books about China, Such as 'Kinas kvinna i forntid and nutid' (1924) and 'Sun Yat Sen, det nya Kinas frihetskämpe '(1933). Thence by descent.
