EMBROIDERY ON SILK, ca 91 x 87,5 cm (plus fringes), designed and embroidered by Anna Casparsson.

A pale pink silk with polychrome silk embroideries, applications, laces, metal threads, sequins and glass beads. A decor of flowers, golden shapes and snakes. Pink fringes. Green lining. (Unique).

Some wear, slightly dirty, damages, holes, tears. The fringes and the lining are possibly later.

Anna Casparsson's textile works are rare at auctions. Born in 1861 she made her debut as an artist as late as 1945 and became very admired for her originality. In 1960 the Moderna museum in Stockholm har a separate exhibition with her works. Casparsson experimented with different material in her embroideries and applications as laces, buttons, glass beads and sequins.
