Provenance

Bought in the 1960's from Sigfrid Södergren, Galleri Färg och Form, Stockholm. The current owner's mother worked at the Gallery.

Sigfrid Södergren, born in 1920 in Brazzaville, French Kongo, dead in 2000 in Stenåsa på Öland, was a Swedish painter, graphic artist and author.

A Tshiwara/Ciwara is a ritual object representing an antelope, used by the Bambara tribe in Mali. These objects were worn while dancing in the fields at sowing time to increase the crop yield.
