Rolf Thies (1927-2019). Var en arkitekt, utbildad i Karlsruhe och kom till Sverige på 1950-talet för att studera arkitektur på KTH i Stockholm. Han stannade kvar i Stockholm och startade 1960 en egen arkitektfirma. Under 1970-talet blev han internationellt känd för sina förslag inom stadsbyggnad. Under senare delan av hans karriär ritade han främst privata hus och villor. Möbler formgav han främst för eget bruk och inget kom i produktion.
