Veneered with amaranth, jacaranda, ebony and boxwood. Black japanned top with gilt pagoda landscape. Length 52, width 30.5, height 75 cm.

Originally with castors.

Auktionens bord är ännu ett exempel på Georg Haupts innovativa förmåga. Den ovanligt snäva ovala formen är unik och har sannolikt bestämts av brickans form. Haupts säkra proportionering med en bredare sarg än vanligt, dekorerad med Haupts karaktäristiska lagergirlander, ger det lilla bordet en elegant balans.
Svarvade ben använde Haupt redan i det lilla bordet utfört för William Chambers i London 1769. Benen på auktionens bord återfinns i samma form i de två praktfulla bord Haupt levererar till Gustaf III 1780. Där finns också analoga bladhölstringar, på det ena i from av beslag på det andra i intarsia så som på föreliggande bord.
