"Diana of Gabii".
The ancient sculpture called "Diana of Gabii" or "Artemis of Gabii" which has been displayed in the Louvre in Paris since 1820 has been attributed to the artist Praxiteles. The marble sculpture was found in 1792 by the artist and archaeologist Gavin Hamilton on the property of the Borghese family at Gabii outside of Rome and was sold in 1807 to Napoleon. Bronze copies, as the current catalog number, have been made since then and this specific cast is by one of the most well known founderies in France.
