Standing buddhist lion on a tall plinth. Height 12 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of P Wedendal, Stockholm.

Purchased at Bukowskis sale 562, in 2011. Then from the Collection of Oscar and Inge Oxholm. Oscar Oxholm was the Danish Envoye in Beijing and Shanghai 1932-39. The collection was mainly formed by his wife Inge and was written about in an article in the Berlingske Tidende in 1938. Several of the objects are depicted in the image. Thence to Wawa Armfelt, lady in watiting to the Danish Queen, thence by descent.
