Markus Åkesson är född 1975 och är verksam i Nybro i Småland. Han är högt skattad för sitt skickliga måleri och hade i början av året en framgångsrik soloutställning på Berg Gallery i Stockholm. Åkesson är även verksam internationellt med bla. det etablerade Galerie Da-End i Paris och hans verk finns i flertalet internationella och svenska samlingar.
Auktionens verk ”Let me sleep through the night (Somnium)” ingick i hans separatutställning med samma namn på Galerie Da-End i Paris 2018.
